Hi to everyone,
I’m Aldo Bisacco, working with a team of biomedical researchers at the University of Padua (Italy) on a research initiative exploring how AlphaGenome can support the discovery of novel therapeutic targets for SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy).
We’re currently looking for collaborators with expertise in:
-
Splicing analysis (especially SMN1/SMN2 regulation)
-
AI-driven variant effect prediction
-
Functional genomics / RNA biology
-
Bioinformatics applied to rare neuromuscular disorders
Goal of the project:
To use AlphaGenome to predict how specific genetic variants affect splicing of SMN2 exon 7, model their biological impact, and help prioritize potential therapeutic targets.
If you’re experienced in any of these areas and interested in contributing to this phase of the project, we’d love to connect.
Whether you’re a researcher, data scientist, or postdoc with relevant skills, feel free to reach out.

Let’s build something meaningful together — for science and for patients.
Thank you!
